In the early hours of August 10, 2026, at approximately 06:43 a.m., the Bjørnafjorden emergency services received an alert regarding the 'Nyving', which had collided with a pier in central Os during its docking procedure after arriving from Breiviken. The vessel backed into the wooden structure, inflicting considerable damage. Emergency responders, including the fire department and local police, arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained. However, the quay suffered notable damage, prompting an investigation into the cause of the allision. By 8:30 a.m., police confirmed their discussions with the ship's captain and ruled out any suspicion of alcohol involvement, suggesting technical malfunctions as the likely culprit behind the accident.
