On September 4, 2026, the vessel 'Blue Tower' was detained in the port of Zhangzhou. This decision came after inspectors identified three serious deficiencies on the ship, all of which were deemed detainable. The findings included issues related to life-saving appliances, specifically the rescue boats (IMO number not specified, no responsibility attributed to the recognized organization). Additionally, labor conditions concerning health protection, medical care, and social security were found lacking, particularly in relation to the anchoring devices (also with no responsibility assigned to the recognized organization). Finally, the fire safety measures were flagged, specifically the fire detection and alarm system, which again fell outside the purview of the recognized organization. Such incidents highlight the ongoing challenges faced by maritime operators in maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
