On August 25, 2026, two Filipino seafarers from the bulk carrier 'Winner' returned home to the Philippines after enduring a harrowing experience involving a drone strike on their ship near Novorossiysk at the beginning of the month. They arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City aboard Qatar Airways flight QR928. This repatriation followed the earlier return of another Filipino crew member, who was flown home on August 22. Upon their arrival, the seafarers were warmly greeted by representatives from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the MIAA Medical Team, who were there to provide essential support, including medical examinations and financial aid. Additionally, representatives from LT Marine Offshore Services, Inc., their deploying agency, were on hand to facilitate the process. The DMW and OWWA instructed the agency to ensure that all returning seafarers receive thorough medical and psychological evaluations and access to their entitled benefits and compensation. In light of the incident, the DMW has also urged manning agencies to diligently monitor the welfare of their deployed crews and enforce strict safety protocols for vessels operating in or around the Black Sea, amid ongoing security concerns in the area.

On December 8, 2018, the cargo vessel 'Cerafina', carrying 1,354 tonnes of zinc, made a scheduled stop while sailing from Zandvliet to Avlies. The ship halted at coordinates 20°20'01" N, 000°50'33.2" W to replace one of its vital sensors. The maintenance work was successfully completed around 8:30 a.m., allowing the Cerafina to continue its journey towards its destination, with an estimated time of arrival set for December 10.
