The Froyaferga, a critical vessel on the Dyrøy–Mausundvær–Sula route, has faced multiple incidents of technical difficulties that have hindered its operations and frustrated travelers. This breakdown prompted the operator FosenNamsos Sjø to deploy the catamaran ferry 'Frovær' as a temporary replacement. Further compounding the woes, on April 3, 2019, the Froyaferga again suspended its services around 11 p.m. due to technical problems, which extended an ongoing pattern of delays affecting passengers traveling on the Dyrøy - Mausund - Bogøyvær - Sula route. The disruptions not only inconvenience local commuters but could also threaten the operational reliability of the ferry service in the long term.
