The Journey of Anna: From Collision to Recovery

Anna has recently been the center of attention following a series of events involving the vessel 'Nossan.' This maritime saga began on July 15, 2020, when the 'Nossan,' while navigating from Mukran, collided with the fishing vessel 'Marita' near Ventspils. The collision resulted in minor damages to the 'Nossan,' allowing it to safely reach Riga's timber port at 9:55 p.m. However, the 'Marita' suffered severe hull damage during the incident, resulting in the loss of its trawl as it made its way to Pavilosta later that day for urgent repairs.

On November 22, the challenges for the 'Nossan' continued as it arrived at the Trelle Yard at Kållandsö for necessary repairs. The ongoing structural issues prompted shipping authorities to take precautions to ensure the vessel’s safety and operational integrity.

After undergoing repairs, the 'Nossan' was successfully refloated on November 16 and subsequently transported to Vänersborg, where maritime authorities granted approval for its movement. With plans to reach Grums by November 17, the vessel would make its way under its own power, albeit under the careful escort of the tug 'Älvbjörn' for added safety during its transit through lake Vänern.
