Tragedy Strikes the Blue-Cecil Amid Significant Industry Movements

Blue-Cecil, a vessel on its journey from Portland, Oregon to Singapore, faced a tragic event in the South China Sea on the evening of December 8, 2023. Approximately 149 nautical miles northwest of Bolinao, the ship, while en route to Manila, experienced a critical situation with three of its crew members. The master of the vessel reported at 9:30 p.m. to the Philippine Coastguard that the crew members were in critical condition and urgently required medical assistance. Regrettably, despite efforts, they were later declared dead by the ship’s duty doctor after being found unconscious in a ship's hold. Their untimely deaths prompted the Blue-Cecil to anchor in Manila Bay the following day, where their bodies were respectfully transferred to the Port of Manila by the BRP 'Malabrigo (MRRV-4402)' for further formalities.\n\nIn a separate yet significant movement within the maritime industry, the vessels Princess Paula, Blue Alexandra, Super Sarah, and Lovely Klara were sold in a package deal to Indian buyers for an undisclosed price.
