The Bore-Song, a Ro-Ro vessel owned by Bore Ltd, has recently been in the news for two very different reasons. On one hand, it was involved in a harrowing incident where six migrants, who had clandestinely entered the UK, became trapped inside a shipping container while aboard the vessel. After being locked inside for over a day, suffering from dehydration, the men bravely called the emergency services, leading to a swift response from local authorities. Fortunately, they were rescued without serious injuries and taken into custody by the Border Force.

On a different note, the Bore-Song has also made headlines for its commitment to environmental sustainability. Bore Ltd recently signed an agreement with P&O Ferries to continue chartering the Bore-Song in the North Sea. Built in 2011, the vessel incorporates innovative features through its Bore RoFlex design, which emphasizes fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. In light of new legislation aimed at decreasing sulphur emissions, Bore has decided to enhance the vessel's eco-friendly capabilities by installing a state-of-the-art scrubber system, with the installation being executed by Deltamarin Floating Construction Ltd.
