CCNI Arauco Resumes Voyage After Extensive Repairs and Sea Trials

The vessel Ccni-Arauco has successfully completed a series of extensive repairs and sea trials, marking its return to active service. After being chosen as the primary contractor for the repairs, Blohm & Voss Yard in Hamburg initiated a significant refurbishment process that included the replacement of steel in fire-affected areas. This decision, confirmed on October 18, set the stage for the vessel's restoration, highlighting the yard's commitment and expertise in handling such intricate work without requiring a dry docking.

By December 11, the Ccni-Arauco departed from Blohm & Voss for the first time after the repairs, embarking on essential sea trials. The vessel conducted these trials in the North Sea, demonstrating its operational capabilities while anchored off the East Frisian Islands in the German Bight. This phase was critical as it allowed engineers and crew to assess the quality of the repairs and the performance of the vessel under various conditions.

Following the completion of successful sea trials, the Ccni-Arauco made its way back to Hamburg, docking at Burchard Quay to take on supplies. On December 21, the ship finally departed from berth 13/14 at the Blohm & Voss Yard, signaling a successful transition back into its operational schedule. It set sail towards Antwerp, with an estimated time of arrival on December 23.
