On February 1, 2022, the cargo vessel 'Abalone' encountered engine troubles while navigating the iconic Bosphorus Strait, traveling from Galati to Kocaeli. In a proactive response, the vessel's crew reached out for help, prompting the Directorate General of Coastal Safety to deploy the tugboat 'Kurtarma 10' along with a pilot. The rescue team successfully escorted the 'Abalone' to Büyükdere Anchorage for necessary repairs. At 11:50 a.m., the ship docked at coordinates 41° 09.53' N, 029° 03.25' E, where it remains anchored as of February 2.
