Working Conditions Aboard the Action-Trader

On January 1, 2023, at 8:45 AM local time, a maritime incident occurred at PT Petrokimia in Gresik port when the bulk carrier "Action Trader" collided with a mooring bridge during its docking maneuver. This allision resulted in significant damage to a dolphin structure and the destruction of a catwalk before the vessel was brought back under control. While the port side of the ship sustained minor damage, it was subsequently towed to the Petrokimia jetty for further assessments. On January 9, at 1:40 AM, the "Action Trader" departed from Gresik and moved to anchor approximately 20 nautical miles away at latitude 06 49 49.73S and longitude 112 47 09.31E. An underwater survey was carried out to evaluate the condition of the ship's hull following the incident. Additionally, officials have reached out to interview the captain of the vessel to gather more information. PT Petrochemical terminal officials are actively collaborating with the vessel's owners and relevant maritime authorities to address the aftermath of this collision.
