AF Marina Ferry Experiences Blackout, Prompting Towing Back to Ancona
On the night of July 18, 2015, the AF Marina, carrying 527 passengers, encountered a total power failure shortly after departing from the ASE Terminal in Ancona at 7:10 PM. The incident necessitated the intervention of tugs from Società CO.RIM.A., which towed the ferry safely back to Ancona. It was re-berthed at approximately 6:00 AM on July 19. Following the blackout, passengers and their vehicles were transferred to alternative vessels heading to Durres. Technicians were subsequently dispatched to address the power restoration aboard the AF Marina. The ferry resumed its journey on July 20 at 9:45 PM, scheduled to arrive in Durres by 5:00 PM on July 21.
