On August 4, 2023, a somber incident unfolded at Gaios Port when the 'Agia Theodora' was preparing to depart for Igoumenitsa. As the ferry readied for its journey, a 61-year-old local passenger experienced a medical emergency, prompting urgent notifications to the Paxos Port Station around midday. Despite immediate resuscitation efforts led by a doctor on board using CPR, the attempts were sadly unsuccessful. The passenger was subsequently rushed by ambulance to the Paxos Health Center, where he was pronounced dead. In light of this tragic event, the Port Authority of Paxos has initiated a preliminary investigation and mandated an autopsy at the General Hospital of Corfu to determine the cause of death.

On the evening of November 11, 2019, the Captain of the ferry 'Agia Theodora' reported an unfortunate incident to the Igoumenitsa Port Authority involving a 67-year-old passenger. The individual sustained injuries after falling down the stairs while traveling from Corfu to Igoumenitsa. Upon arrival at the port, he was promptly transported by ambulance to the Igoumenitsa Health Center for initial treatment, before being transferred to Filiates General Hospital located in Thesprotia for further care.
