Dship Carriers, a prominent player in the multi-purpose project carrier sector and a key member of the deugro Group, is set to broaden its operational capabilities by acquiring the Helvetia, alongside two other heavy-lift MPP vessels in July/August 2017. These vessels are strategically earmarked for vital trade routes connecting Asia, the Persian Gulf, and Europe. The newly added MVs—Holandia, Helvetia, and Gallia—pay homage to the Press family’s maritime heritage, as they were named after vessels operated by the family during the 1980s. Rickmers-Linie has announced a significant upgrade to its India service by incorporating a fleet of new vessels. This enhancement aims to establish direct eastbound and westbound connections between Europe and India, while also offering optional stops in Pakistan and the Middle East on an "inducement" basis. For project cargo and heavy lift shipments, the updated Europe-India service will feature key ports including Hamburg, Antwerp, Genoa, Mumbai, and Chennai as main hubs. The carrier has revealed that four new vessels are slated to join this route. Among them, the LINDE and MARTIN have been secured through long-term charters, while the Rickmers Yokohama and Rickmers Tianjin are expected to be delivered from China's Xinshun Shipyard group in May and July, respectively.
