Qatar's Nakilat has officially taken over the complete management and operations of the Al Ghashamiya LNG carrier, transitioning from Shell Trading and Shipping Co. Ltd (STASCo). This step underscores Nakilat's ongoing strategy for transitioning management of its fleet, a plan initially detailed on October 19, 2016. The Al Ghashamiya boasts an impressive cargo capacity of 217,591 cubic meters and is entirely owned by Nakilat. Currently, it operates under a charter agreement with Qatargas. Built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea, the vessel was delivered back in April 2009 and has remained an integral part of the LNG shipping sector ever since.
