Al-Huwaila Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

In a significant milestone for Brazil’s energy landscape, the Q-Flex LNG carrier Al-Huwaila has made its inaugural visit to the Bahia Regasification Terminal (TRBA) located in Baía de Todos os Santos, Salvador. This notable delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) marks the largest shipment ever received at Petrobras’ latest terminal, as confirmed by RasGas. The arrival of the Korean-built Q-Flex vessel extends RasGas’ operational capabilities, as expressed by Khalid Sultan R al-Kuwari, Chief Marketing and Shipping Officer at RasGas. He stated, "The docking of our fully-loaded Q-flex vessel at Bahia broadens our reach to 56 terminals across 18 countries, enhancing cost-efficiency for our clients. This exemplifies RasGas’ adaptive operations, and we are eager to continue backing Petrobras in fulfilling its increasing demand for cleaner energy through LNG." Rodrigo Vilanova, Executive Manager for Gas & Power Marketing and Trading at Petrobras, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that the arrival of the Q-Flex vessel uplifts Brazil’s capacity to accommodate larger LNG carriers. Vilanova remarked, "This development is vital for our operations, as LNG is an essential supply source for the Brazilian natural gas market. RasGas plays a crucial role as a strategic LNG supplier to Petrobras." RasGas boasts an integrated fleet comprising 27 long-term chartered LNG vessels, featuring a diverse mix of 14 conventional ships, 12 Q-Flex vessels, and a single Q-Max vessel. This fleet variety empowers RasGas to adeptly respond to the global market demands for LNG.
