In a significant move within the maritime industry, Gianluigi Aponte’s Italian holding company, Marinvest, has officially finalized an agreement with Messina Group, marking MSC's entry as a partial owner of four additional vessels. The deal, valued at €25 million (approximately $28.5 million), gives MSC a 49% stake in the Ignazio Messina & C. group and a controlling interest in a newly formed entity that will oversee four of Messina’s eight modern conro ships. The ships included in this strategic acquisition are the Jolly Diamante, Jolly Perla, Jolly Titanio, and Jolly Cobalto, with MSC holding a 52% control over these vessels. This partnership not only boosts MSC's fleet but also strengthens its position in the competitive shipping market.

Abu Dhabi Terminals, the esteemed manager and operator of Khalifa Port Container Terminal (KPCT), recently commemorated a significant milestone with the inaugural visit of the Jolly Titanio, recognized as the world's largest container Roll-On/Roll-Off (Con-Ro) vessel. Owned by the reputable Messina Line, the ship was welcomed by Captain Scotto Di Fasano Francesco, who received the traditional maiden call plaque from Mr. Martijn van de Linde, CEO of Abu Dhabi Terminals. This momentous event was attended by Captain Giordano Gelasini, Regional Director of Messina – Dubai, along with various dignitaries and guests from both organizations. Measuring an impressive 240 meters in length and 37.50 meters in width, Jolly Titanio boasts an extraordinary 6,350 meters of Ro-Ro cargo capacity, expertly designed to transport wheeled vehicles such as cars, trucks, and trailers. Additionally, the vessel has the capacity to carry 3,900 TEU, making it the largest of its kind to dock in the UAE. The Jolly Titanio is scheduled to berth at KPCT every fifteen days, following a comprehensive port rotation that includes Castellon, Genoa, Salerno, Aqaba, Port Sudan, Jeddah, Djibouti, Bandar Abbas, Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Jubail, and Misurata.
