On July 2, the passenger ro/ro vessel Euroferry Egnazia, weighing 33,588 gross tons and constructed in 1994, faced engine difficulties while traveling from Salerno to Catania. Fortunately, the skilled crew onboard promptly initiated repairs while positioned off the coast of Calabria. Their efforts paid off as they successfully restarted the engines, allowing the Euroferry Egnazia to continue its journey to Catania without further delay.

On March 25, 2018, the Euroferry Egnazia encountered significant issues while docking at the port of Brindisi. During the mooring operation, the vessel sustained damage, leading to an emergency response operation. A total of 125 passengers, along with 21 trucks and 75 vehicles, were safely disembarked at Igoumenitsa. In light of the incident, the port authority was promptly notified, and the Euroferry Egnazia was subsequently barred from sailing until the necessary repairs have been completed and its seaworthiness re-evaluated.

Early in the morning of October 11, 2015, at approximately 4:30 a.m., the ramp of the *Euroferry Egnazia* unexpectedly collapsed into the waters of Igoumenitsa port due to a hydraulic system malfunction. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, but the ramp became inoperable and was rendered non-watertight during the incident. At the time of the accident, the ferry was docked between ramps No. 2 and 5. Passengers heading to Igoumenitsa were able to disembark using a ladder that was promptly set up. However, there were still 301 passengers aboard the ferry who were traveling to Patras and could not leave. Initial attempts on October 11 to raise the ramp using a crane proved unsuccessful, leaving the vehicles trapped on the vessel. It wasn't until 2 a.m. on October 12 that the crew, with the help of heavy cranes, successfully inserted the necessary pin into the port-side hydraulic lifting system, restoring its functionality. Following this, *Euroferry Egnazia* relocated to mooring ramp No. 4, allowing 64 passengers and their vehicles, including four cars, 64 trucks, and three trailers destined for Patras, to finally disembark after a 22-hour delay. These passengers then transferred to the cruise ferry *Euroferry Olympia*, which departed at 4:27 a.m. In response to the incident, the Central Port of Igoumenitsa has detained the *Euroferry Egnazia* pending a thorough inspection to certify its seaworthiness before it is allowed to resume operations.
