The Almaha: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On July 27, 2021, the luxury yacht 'Almaha', carrying 16 individuals (comprising five passengers and 11 crew members), faced a dire situation as it ran aground in the shallow waters near Lichadonissia in North Evoikos. The vessel was en route to Skiathos and sailing near Kamena Vourla when it struck a shallow area, resulting in a leak and water ingress. In response to the emergency, the Chamber of Commerce teamed up with the Stylida Port Authority and notified nearby vessels to assist. By 5 a.m., the tourist boat 'Oasis' reached the scene and successfully evacuated the five passengers, while the crew chose to stay with the yacht. Additional boats attempted to approach the grounded vessel but were hindered by the shallow waters. An hour later, the 'Oasis' and other responding vessels proceeded to Skiathos, while the tugboat 'Christos XVII' remained on-site under the Chamber of Commerce's directions. Measures were taken to safeguard against environmental concerns, with anti-pollution equipment placed on standby to prevent any oil spills.
