On February 25, 2022, a significant maritime incident involving the bulk carrier 'Elgiznur Cebi' was reported. The maritime safety investigation office from Singapore contacted the Cabinete de Investigação de Acidentes Marítimos e da Autoridade para a Meteorologia Aeronáutica (GAMA) in Lisbon to inform them of the event. The vessel lost its port side anchor while anchored approximately six nautical miles south of Changi, Singapore, during the early hours of February 24. At the time, the 'Elgiznur Cebi' was making its way from Hazira to Tianjin, with an expected time of arrival set for March 6. In response to this anchor loss, GAMA promptly initiated an investigation, commencing evidence collection for thorough analysis. The European Commission was also notified of the incident via the European Marine Casualty Information Platform (EMCIP).
