This incident occurred at the Alvheim field, situated in the central North Sea, close to the UK's maritime sector. On discovering the leak, production was immediately suspended; however, the onboard crew of 56 remained safe and worked diligently to identify the specific source of the leak. The emergency was effectively managed for several hours, ensuring that no contaminants were released into the sea, thus averting any environmental impact. The FPSO Alvheim (IMO: 9170078) boasts an overall length of 252.00 meters, a molded beam of 42.00 meters, and a maximum draft capacity of 15.00 meters. With a deadweight of 91,676 DWT and a gross tonnage of 71,058 GRT, the vessel continues to play a vital role in offshore production operations.
