On February 24, 2021, the 'King 2' underwent a Port State Control (PSC) inspection at the port of Gythion. Following this examination, the vessel was detained under the Paris Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The inspectors identified several serious deficiencies in accordance with Annex 'X' of KO 2009/16/EC, leading to the decision to detain the ship.

In a tragic incident on the evening of July 31, 2017, the Chinese cargo vessel m/v 'Chong Lunj 3010' (IMO: 41377291), weighing 5,772 dwt, was involved in a serious collision with the 'New Sailing 2' at 10:29 p.m. near Taicang on the Yangtze River. The 'New Sailing 2', which was transporting a load of timber, was making its way to Taicang when the accident occurred. The 'Chong Lunj 3010', carrying 183 containers and with a crew of 15, was en route from Chongqing to Shanghai when it became submerged after the impact. Sadly, two members of her crew are missing and presumed to have fallen overboard during the sinking. A major search and rescue (SAR) operation has been initiated, involving five vessels and approximately 20 nearby ships, all aimed at locating the missing individuals and retrieving the floating containers that were lost during the incident. Fortunately, the 'New Sailing 2' sustained only minor damage in the collision, allowing its crew to remain safe while efforts to aid those affected by the accident continue.
