On March 16, 2024, the bulk carrier 'Anikitos' collided with the loading wharf of South32, located in Alyangula on Groote Eylandt, Milner Bay, while carrying a hefty 41,140 metric tonnes of manganese ore. The ship’s master is working diligently to resolve the situation and maneuver the vessel away from the damaged wharf as soon as feasible.
