On May 2, 2018, the fishing trawler 'Arctic Opilio' encountered a challenging situation when it ran aground in Tromsø Sound, just outside the Nova area on Tromsdal's side. The initial reports of the incident came from witnesses approximately 15 minutes after the grounding at 3 p.m., yet there had been no prior notifications to either the Tromsø police or the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC). Fortunately, by 3:35 p.m., the vessel was able to refloat itself, and by 4:10 p.m., it successfully docked in the port of Tromsø.
