The Aris-Glory: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On March 25, 2017, at approximately 6 a.m., the bulk carrier 'Queen Jhansi' encountered a perilous situation while anchored near Gijón during the fierce storm Hugo. The vessel began to drag its anchor due to severe weather conditions, prompting urgent action from the rescue tower of El Musel. The crew was alerted that the ship was drifting towards the shore and instructed to lift the anchor and vacate the anchorage immediately. However, the combination of the storm's intensity and technical difficulties hindered their ability to execute the maneuver promptly. In response to this emergency, the 'Queen Jhansi' called for assistance from the nearby rescue vessel 'Alonso de Chaves' (IMO: 8411164) and tugboat 'Navia' (IMO: 9184471) stationed at El Musel. With expert guidance and support from the tug and Salvamento Maritimo, the bulk carrier successfully abandoned its precarious position and sailed offshore, heading north of Gijón. It navigated towards a location near Cabo de Peñas under the watchful escort of both the tug and the rescue vessel. By March 26, the 'Queen Jhansi' had stabilized and docked at the northern pier of the El Musel extension, where it commenced loading operations for cement and clinker.
