By June 1, the vessel remained anchored at coordinates 48°11'N 139°52'E, approximately 60 nautical miles south of Vanino. On June 2, assistance arrived as the tanker 'Glier' (IMO: 8920529) took the 'Arsenyev' in tow, with an estimated arrival time at Sovetskaya Gavan set for June 2 at 11:30 p.m.

On April 20, 2011, the vessel ARSENYEV (IMO 8700125) encountered engine failure while navigating the 4th Kuril Strait, situated between the Okhotsk Sea and the Pacific Ocean. The crew reported their inability to rectify the main engine issue independently. A salvage tug has been dispatched and is expected to arrive by the morning of April 21 to assist the disabled vessel.
