Working Conditions Aboard the Asia-Venture

(Reuters) – The highly anticipated first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Chevron's Wheatstone project in Australia has successfully reached its destination in Japan. JERA Co, the prominent fuel procurement joint venture formed by Tokyo Electric Power and Chubu Electric Power, confirmed the arrival of this initial shipment on Monday. The cargo, transported by the vessel 'Asia Venture,' contained approximately 70,000 tonnes of LNG and docked at Tokyo Electric Power’s Futtsu LNG terminal located in Chiba prefecture on Tokyo Bay on Sunday. This milestone follows Chevron's announcement last month, revealing that the Wheatstone LNG project commenced production at the beginning of October and promptly sent its first cargo to JERA, recognized as the largest LNG buyer globally.
