On July 22, 2026, the vessel 'Ask R' made an unscheduled stop at the Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven (CTW) due to a medical emergency onboard. During its docking procedure, overseen by experienced pilots, the ship's bow veered away from the dock, resulting in an allision with a mooring dolphin at the stern. Following the incident, an inspection of the hull found a significant breach—approximately 20 centimeters in diameter—located about one meter above the waterline. In response to this situation, the local water police initiated an investigation to assess the circumstances of the incident. Fortunately, no hazardous materials were discharged into the environment, and there were no reported injuries. However, the Wilhelmshaven authorities, in consultation with the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Transport Sector - Ship Safety Division, imposed a sailing ban on the vessel.
