In the early hours of July 3, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the fishing vessel 'Asper Victoria', with a crew of four, found itself aground off the coast of Rubbestadneset. The incident prompted immediate action from the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), which quickly dispatched lifeboats from Stord and Haugesund. The lifeboats, 'Sundt' and 'Fitjar', responded promptly to the situation. Rescue operations led to the successful evacuation of two crew members, while the other two remained safe aboard the vessel.
