Incident Report: Ast Malta Allides with Kiel Canal Lock
On April 29, 2019, at 8:20 PM, the vessel 'Ast Malta' experienced a navigation mishap while exiting the New Northern Lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel. The ship, which was traveling from Riga to Waterford, struck the wall twice, causing minor damage. Specifically, the vessel grazed the emergency niche cover on gate 1, along with the deterioration of two wooden fenders. Fortunately, no injuries or pollution incidents were reported as a result of the allision.
