Incident Involving Augusta Luna in Havana Port
On December 21, 2020, at 2:55 PM, the bulk carrier Augusta Luna was involved in an allision with the tug Capricornio I while attempting to dock at the Haiphong Terminal in Havana. During this maritime incident, the Augusta Luna sustained a notable dent measuring approximately 7.4 meters above the waterline, with a diameter of 50 centimeters, affecting the starboard side at the height of ballast tank 1. Despite the damage, the vessel's seaworthiness remained intact, allowing it to subsequently depart from the port and continue its journey towards Mariel.
Electrical Malfunction Strikes Lolland Near Lizard Point
On July 23, 2018, the bulk carrier 'Lolland' encountered an electrical engine failure while navigating approximately 28 miles southeast of Lizard Point, positioned at 49° 43.1'N, 005° 04.6'W.
