Collision Incident In Ijmuiden: Scombrus Strikes Prospector I
On December 7, 2017, a maritime incident occurred in the port of Ijmuiden involving the reefer vessel Scombrus and the drill ship Prospector I. The Scombrus unintentionally collided with the Prospector I, which was safely docked in Haringhaven. As a result of the allision, the Scombrus sustained significant damage to its hull on the starboard side amidships. Following the incident, Scombrus docked at the cutter quay around 7:40 PM to commence repairs. Fortunately, there were no reported damages to the drill ship Prospector I. After completing the necessary repairs, the Scombrus successfully set sail again on December 21, departing at 6:50 PM with a destination of Las Palmas, expected to arrive on December 28.
