Avrasya Detained in Tuapse for Safety Violations
On June 18, 2026, the bulk carrier 'Avrasya' was detained in Tuapse following a port state inspection that revealed multiple serious deficiencies. The inspection uncovered four detainable issues that jeopardized the vessel's compliance with safety regulations. Among these were deficiencies related to the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, structural issues with the bulkheads indicating operational damage, and concerns regarding the water and weathertight conditions, including inadequate covers and doors. Each of these shortcomings was identified without responsibility assigned to the Recognized Organization (RO). Fortunately, the 'Avrasya' was granted release just a day later, on June 19, after rectifying the identified issues.
