Emergency Rescue Operation in the Dardanelles for 'Azara' Crew Member

On May 18, during its journey from Izmail to Irakleion, the vessel 'Azara' encountered a medical emergency when a crew member fell seriously ill. Promptly addressing the situation, the Coastal Safety agency deployed the lifeboat 'Kiyem 9' to conduct a medical evacuation (medevac) at the northern entrance of the Dardanelles. The dedicated crew of 'Kiyem 9' successfully retrieved the patient and transported him to Gallipoli, where he was handed over to medical professionals. On April 8, 2023, the bulk carrier BOGDAN experienced a distressing incident as a crew member went overboard while navigating the Sea of Crete. The vessel was on its journey from Israel to Bulgaria when the seaman failed to report for his scheduled watch. Following an exhaustive onboard search that yielded no results, the ship's Master promptly alerted Greek maritime authorities and decided to turn the vessel around in hopes of locating the missing crew member.
