New Journey Begins for Western Moscow Post Repairs

Jul 27, 2019 22:14

The bulk carrier 'Western Moscow' is embarking on its inaugural voyage after undergoing essential repairs following its collision with the LNG tanker 'WilForce' (IMO: 9627954) near Singapore on May 30. The vessel, which called at Batam from June 7 to 18 and Colombo on June 25 and 26, was spotted approaching Ijmuiden on July 26. Notably, it was missing a port side anchor and had completed temporary repairs at the port bow before docking at Bering Port in Amsterdam at 2:35 PM. Meanwhile, the 'WilForce' remained anchored at Benoi Shipyard in Singapore as of July 27. Following comprehensive repair works, the 'Western Moscow' received its final maintenance on September 10, continuing its journey from Ijmuiden at 2:50 PM, with the next destination being Muuga, expected on September 14. On September 9 at 11:30 AM, the 'WilForce' departed from Singapore waters, setting its course towards the South China Sea. LNG Tanker 'WilForce' Collides with 'Western Moscow' Off Singapore

Jun 05, 2019 09:39

On May 30, 2019, a significant maritime incident occurred as the LNG tanker 'WilForce' collided with the 'Western Moscow', a new vessel from Nisshin Shipping, while both were navigating en route to Singapore. The 'WilForce', which was operating in ballast, sustained considerable damage, leading to hull dents that necessitated its urgent dry docking for repairs at a shipyard in Singapore. Awilco LNG, the Norwegian shipping company that owns the 'WilForce', has expressed concerns regarding the extent of the damage and the duration of the vessel's downtime, which remains uncertain. Preliminary assessments suggest that Awilco LNG believes the fault lies entirely with the 'Western Moscow.'
