The Bbc-Oregon: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

In a maritime incident that unfolded on June 30, 2023, the general cargo ship with container capacity, BBC Oregon (IMO: 9618 gt, built 2010), ran aground shortly after leaving Bay Bulls Harbour, Canada, at approximately 16:30 hours. The situation prompted an immediate response from the Canadian Coast Guard vessel Edward Cornwallis along with the tug Beverly M, which successfully maneuvered the BBC Oregon from the rocky area on the harbour's southern side during the evening's high tide. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from this grounding incident. As of now, the vessel is securely anchored in the harbour while a dive team prepares to conduct a thorough inspection of the hull. Additionally, an environmental assessment will be performed to determine if there are any signs of pollution as a result of the grounding.
