On February 23, 2019, a maritime incident occurred involving the ferry 'Don Peppino', which had departed from Pozzuoli en route to Ischia at 7:15 a.m. Upon its arrival at the port shortly after 8:30 a.m., the ferry encountered robust north-northeast winds, leading it to collide with the bow of another vessel, the 'Benito Buono'. As a result of this unfortunate encounter, 'Don Peppino' was compelled to return to Pozzuoli with all passengers aboard. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, although the ferry sustained minor damage.
