On May 2, 2021, the bulk carrier 'Berge Yotei' encountered a significant explosion and subsequent fire within its cargo hold while navigating the South Pacific region, specifically Northwest of the Magellan Strait. Following the explosive incident, the vessel found itself drifting without control.
