Bering Faces Second Detention in Less Than a Month
The vessel Bering has experienced its second detention in under a month, with the latest incident occurring on November 6 in Gothenburg. Maritime Organisation (MOU) inspectors identified a total of 14 deficiencies on board, with four being categorized as serious and warranting the ship's detention. The serious issues include inadequate structural conditions related to electrical installations, an inoperative emergency power source, general safety concerns, and deficiencies concerning the ISM certification. After a hold of ten days, the ship was released on November 16 and subsequently set sail for Lidköping, with an estimated time of arrival scheduled for November 18. Prior to this, the Bering was detained on October 10 in Gemlik, where it faced 13 deficiencies and was held for three days.
