In the early hours of October 15, 2024, at approximately 1:40 a.m., the cement carrier 'Blue Ciment I' encountered engine trouble while navigating the Bosphorus Strait, specifically near Anadolu Hisarı. The vessel, which was on a voyage from Brevik to Zonguldak, temporarily ran aground before the timely intervention of tugs 'Kurtarma 8' and 'Kurtarma 11', which successfully refloated the ship. Following this incident, 'Blue Ciment I' proceeded toward the Black Sea, escorted by the tugs, and subsequently anchored for repairs at coordinates 41° 17' N 029° 03' E.
