On November 23, 2019, the bulk carrier 'Faye' faced an alarming security incident when five armed intruders, wielding long knives, boarded the vessel approximately 4.4 miles south-southeast of Tanjung Bulat within the eastbound lane of the Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) in the Singapore Strait. The perpetrators were detected in the engine room of the ship, raising immediate concerns among the crew. Swiftly reacting to the breach, the crew activated an alarm, prompting the intruders to flee the scene. In the aftermath, a thorough search for any missing belongings or remaining threats was conducted, ultimately confirming by the ship's master that all intruders had left the vessel. Following the incident, the master reported the situation to the Singapore Vessel Traffic Information System (VTIS) to ensure maritime safety. The 'Faye' then continued its journey toward Incheon, with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) scheduled for December 3.
