Borgensfjord Grounds Near Lurøy: All Crew Safe
On May 16, 2025, at approximately 8 a.m., the cargo vessel 'Borgensfjord' ran aground while en route from Myre to nearby fish farms. The incident occurred in position 66° 21' N 012° 47' E, just off the coast of Lurøy. The ship had been navigating from the west side of Aldra when it inadvertently ended up in a shallow area west of Stokkvågen, located south of Lurøya. Fortunately, the Central Rescue Center reported no emergencies for either the vessel's crew or the surrounding environment.
