BOS BROOK 9437505: Fuel Oil Leak Incident at Kelley Point Park
On March 18, 2011, an incident involving the 'Transcenden Time' vessel led to the spillage of approximately 100 gallons of motor fuel oil near the junction of the Willamette and Columbia rivers. The U.S. Coast Guard was alerted to the leak at around 11:30 AM, which occurred off Kelley Point Park. Fortunately, the crew aboard the ship acted quickly to secure the leak. While some of the fuel oil entered the waterways, a portion was contained on the vessel's deck. Rapid response teams were deployed to the scene, utilizing booms and absorbent materials to mitigate the environmental impact.
