The vessel was docked at the Tromsø terminal at Skattøra, with 22 crew members on board. The local fire department promptly established a safety perimeter around the trawler and initiated an evacuation procedure, ensuring the safety of those in the vicinity. By 8:25 a.m., officials confirmed that the leak had been successfully contained, and the safety zone was lifted as the danger of exposure diminished. The police reported by 8:35 a.m. that ventilation efforts were underway on the vessel. An investigation will commence to determine the cause of the leak as conditions allow. Unfortunately, four individuals were taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Northern Norway (UNN) after being exposed to the harmful gas.
