Working Conditions Aboard the Cape-Legacy

On March 8, 2025, at exactly 4:12 p.m., the bulk carrier 'Cape Legacy' collided with another vessel, the 'Fei Da 138', at the entrance of the Yangtze River. The 'Cape Legacy', which was carrying 90,000 tons of iron ore fines, was navigating upstream along with the 'Fei Da 138'. The 'Cape Legacy' was approaching from the North Channel while the 'Fei Da 138' was making its way in from the South Channel, heading towards Zhenjiang Port. The impact resulted in a significant breach in the bow of the 'Cape Legacy', leading to water entering its port side forepeak tank. Fortunately, with a pilot on board and under the escort of a tug, the 'Cape Legacy' was safely secured at the Baoshan Beimaodi Anchorage in the Yangtze River.
