On January 7, 2023, at approximately 2:25 PM, the 'Cape Roger,' carrying a crew of 21, encountered a collision with the disabled fishing vessel 'Beat & Pound' (MMSI: 316044478). The incident occurred while the 'Cape Roger' was maneuvering to tow the fishing vessel in the waters of German Bank, situated off Wedgeport, Nova Scotia, at coordinates 43° 19' 03.6" N, 66° 28' 53.4" W. Fortunately, an inspection revealed no damage that would compromise the seaworthiness of the 'Cape Roger,' and the towing operation proceeded successfully towards West Head.
