Early on October 6, 2025, the passenger ferry 'Capri Jet' experienced an engine room fire shortly after its departure from Molo Beverello in Naples. With 290 passengers on board, the vessel was en route to Sorrento and Positano when it lost propulsion amidst the bustling maritime traffic, including hydrofoils servicing the Phlegraean Islands. Thankfully, the ship was safely guided back to the quay with the assistance of two tugs and a pilot boat. Once docked, all passengers, along with nine crew members, disembarked without any injuries being reported.
