Kruckau Arrested Over Captain's Intoxication Off Travemuende
On the evening of April 13, 2010, the vessel 'Kruckau' (IMO: 9199141) faced a serious incident as it was apprehended by the Lübeck police while anchored off Travemuende. The troubling event unfolded after the ship's captain, a Russian national, was discovered to be under the influence of alcohol, leading to disputes with his crew regarding the navigation of the ship. The Kruckau had set sail from CTL at Lübeck Siems, en route to Kolding, carrying a cargo of wood. During the voyage, the captain disregarded the guidance provided by the pilot on the Trave. Following a drug test, it was confirmed that the captain had a blood alcohol level of 2.29 promille, which resulted in the imposition of a safety fine amounting to 600 Euros.
