Cement Trader Runs Aground Near Terneuzen: Successful Refloating Operation
On May 1, 2025, the bulk carrier 'Cement Trader' encountered a challenging situation as it ran aground while approaching the Western foreport of Terneuzen from Setubal. The vessel, which has a draft of 07.10 metres, became stranded between the Dow Schelde jetty and the foreport, triggering the need for immediate assistance. Emergency response came swiftly, with the tugs 'Multratug 16', 'Multratug 13', and 'VB Triumphante' arriving on the scene to facilitate the refloating operation, alongside the tug 'Patrol'. Thanks to their combined efforts, the 'Cement Trader' was successfully freed and subsequently moored at the Western foreport for a thorough inspection.
