On the evening of February 19, 2019, the cargo vessel 'Cemsea III' encountered a significant mechanical issue while navigating the Baltic Sea, northwest of Hiiumaa island. The vessel, which was traveling from Liepaja to Turku, experienced a leakage in its cooling water system. Consequently, it veered off its planned course and anchored near Saaremaa harbour for repairs. After docking on February 21 at 7:50 p.m., the ship awaited both safe berthing and necessary technical assistance. After the repairs were completed, the 'Cemsea III' set sail from Saaremaa on February 22 at 11:00 a.m. and made its way to Naantali, reaching there later that same day at 11:30 p.m., before continuing its journey back to Liepaja.
