In a shocking incident, the 38-year-old captain of the 'Century' was discovered deceased in his cabin on May 18, 2021. The vessel was navigating the waters off the Central American coast in the Pacific, on a voyage from Shanghai to Panama. The captain was scheduled to disembark in Panama and subsequently return to his home in Ukraine. Following the grim discovery, the ship reached Balboa anchorage on May 21.
